About Taba City

Taba is a distinctive Egyptian city located in South Sinai Governorate, positioned at the head of the Gulf of Aqaba, bordered by the Taba Mountains and plateaus to the east, and the waters of the Gulf of Aqaba on the other. With a population of around 3,000 people and covering an area of approximately 508.8 acres, Taba holds significant historical and strategic value.

Taba's prime location places it at the intersection of four countries: Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Palestine. The city is about 240 km north of Sharm El Sheikh and sits close to several key borders. It is located just 7 km east of Eilat Port in Israel, directly facing the Saudi border, with a clear line of sight to Tabuk Military Base in Saudi Arabia. Taba is also considered the last Egyptian urban point on the Gulf of Aqaba, opposite Aqaba Port in Jordan, the region's only seaport.
